Family Ministry

At Grace Crossing Church, we want to provide a safe, loving environment for your children and teens to connect with God, grow in their knowledge of Him, and learn to serve others. We desire to help your children understand who God is and how they can have a relationship with Him. We are dedicated to working alongside parents and guardians to help your children grow into the people God wants them to be. Check out this page to find out what our learning goals are for each environment and get resources to help you and your family continue the discovery at home. There are environments for children 3 months - 5th grade during our Sunday service at 10AM as well as ministries for 6th - 12th graders on Sunday at 11:30am. We'd love for your children to join us!

Your First Visit

GCC Kids: Infants - 5th Grade

Service Time: 10AM

We invite you to visit us at the GCC Kids Ministry Center located to your left after you walk through the front doors. We would love to tell you about the exciting programs we offer for your children. The safety and spiritual health of your children are very important to us.

As our guests for the first time, we will just need a moment to collect some important details:

  • Your name & contact information
  • Your child(ren)’s name(s)
  • Your child(ren)’s ages and/or grade in school
  • Any medical information we may need concerning your child(ren), such as allergies, special needs, etc.

It is that easy! Once we have this information – your children are ready to join the fun and learning that happens in our kids rooms every Sunday!

At this first visit, you will also have the opportunity to complete additional registration information that will ensure a quick check-in and check-out process for your subsequent visits. (To save several steps and fill out this information at home, download our check-in form.)

If you have any questions about GCC Kids Ministries, we would be happy to chat – just stop by the desk and ask.

What is Think Orange?

At Grace Crossing Church, we think what happens with you and your children at home is just as influential to their spiritual lives as what happens inside the walls of our church. That's why we want to partner with you to make the greatest impact we can make on your children. In the "Orange" strategy, yellow represents the light of the church and red represents the heart of your family. It is only by bringing the two together that we can "Think Orange."

We Think Orange

Infants (3-18 mos)

We know leaving your baby for the first time can be overwhelming, that’s why our staff wants to ensure you and your child have a positive experience every time you attend our church. Our Infant room is a loving, clean, and safe atmosphere where children have their first encounter with God. Our staff is dedicated to making sure that, even from the earliest age, a child’s memory of their church experience is one of tender love, nurturing care, and fun. The volunteers in our Infant classrooms have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all of the needs of your infant. All of our volunteers complete a background screening and train with one of our current volunteers before they begin serving.

To make your experience the best it can be, here are a few things you can do to help:

  • Please label all of your child’s items so you leave with everything you brought and our volunteers know which items may be used by your child (labels can also be printed at our check-in stations when you register).
  • Please check your child in at the registration desk, and make sure to inform our staff of any special instructions or allergies.

Our Toddler room is a colorful and inviting atmosphere where children are encouraged to make new friends and get an opportunity every week to have an encounter with God's word. Our staff makes this possible by making sure each child has a chance to practice their fine and gross motor skills with crafts and play that point them to God.

The Toddler class is where we begin to introduce the three basic truths we think are so critical for this age to know about God:

  • God made me
  • God loves me
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever

Toddlers (18-36 mos)

Preschool (3-5 yrs)

In our preschool environment, the lessons are structured in such a way that children learn important truths about God while interacting with their peers. The lessons involve hands-on group activities so they can learn with other children their age. There are fun games, crafts, an entertaining Bible story, and energetic praise songs! With each unit we teach, your child learns a truth about God. By the time your child reaches the age of five, we want them to know these basic truths about God:

  • God made me
  • God loves me
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever

To make your experience the best it can be, here is what you can do to help:

  • Please check your child in at the registration desk, and make sure to inform our staff of any special instructions or allergies.

In the GCC Kids Elementary environment, your children will learn a new virtue each month (like kindness, honesty, self-control, obedience, and many more). Every virtue is taught alongside a memory verse and through the lens of a Bible story or passage, which is made easy to remember through a weekly “bottom line” phrase. To top it off, we have exciting characters, crazy games, energetic songs, and a small group time for kids to talk with their peers and small group leader about the lesson they just heard. We show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure to be more like Jesus. Before your elementary child reaches 5th grade, we want them to know three basic truths based on how Jesus grew (found in Luke 2:52):

  • Wisdom: I need to make the wise choice
  • Faith: I can trust God no matter what
  • Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated

Want to join our team?

At GCC, we value enthusiastic participation and like to think of ourselves as a working church. Our greatest asset is our team of volunteers, and there's always more to be done. If you are looking at this particular section, you may be an answer to our prayers!

An application needs to be completed if you are interested in volunteering in one of the many family ministry roles at GCC. You will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator and/or a ministry director to discuss your interest. It is our desire to help you find both a meaningful place of belonging and of service here at GCC.

All new team members will be asked to fill out a background check form and meet with one of our GCC Kids Staff to go over general expectations with you and answer any questions you may have. You will also be scheduled to observe in the area where you are interested. Click the button below to get in touch with our Associate Pastor, Emmett Keck.

Parent Cues

One way we partner with you is by providing spiritual resources for you to use in your home. That's why you may see publications (or even icons on this page) directing you to a "Parent Cue." A Parent Cue is simply a tool that can help give you a cue to start a spiritual conversation or activity with your family, so look for these resources on this page and in print format at GCC.

Preschool & Elementary parents are encouraged to download the "Parent Cue" application (for iPhone/iPad or Android). This app gives you lesson summaries of what your child learned about on Sunday and provides ideas for activities you can do to incorporate what they are learning at church into your home.
